Split every corridor into outbound fill, inbound fill, and paired round-trip fill. A truck that leaves full and returns empty still worked hard—but the empty leg is where scheduling and backhaul hunting pay off.
Chart by vehicle class. A ten-wheeler and a trailer combination do not share the same empty-leg economics, and blending them hides which class needs attention.
Ask finance for fuel spend by corridor for the same weeks you chart load factor. When fuel rises while fill falls, the story writes itself for ownership.
